The characteristics of Y2k include flashy accessories, low-rise styles, tracksuits, retro aesthetic, and more. Celebrities like Britney Spears and the Spice Girls have contributed to this trend. The cultural importance of this theme represents both the younger and older generations. The current trend brings the older generation into nostalgia, while the younger generation is inspired and is given the opportunity to get a feel of the experience by investing into the clothing, music styles, and the digital technology with friends. Y2k is relevant today because the younger generation are all able to try new styles to see what embraces each of their identity.
